Tomorrow we will be looking at what life might have been like if the world wide web had never been invented by this man… What are your thoughts? Come back tomorrow to find out some of our ideas!

George Laughead Jr. said the following…

This (picture above) illustrates in 3-D the actual domains and connections of the world wide web. Colours have been added to represent .edu, .gov, .com, etc. domains. I’ve always seen the web as bubbles – some large, some small – and vectors – thick or thin. This is the best graphic device I’ve seen to show that connectivity.

five_minute_quickies_stories.ppt

In literacy last week we had fun spending a few minutes practicingfor example listing adjectives, writing character descriptions etc . Perhaps you could challenge yourself to have a go at home or even send one or two of your efforts as a comment.

Have a look at some of the people our class have been researching. They have researched in many different ways eg. looked at sources on the Internet, asked parents and siblings (brothers and sisters), they have looked at books, and have connected ideas to information they already knew.

Haven’t they worked hard? What do you think?

MIXED EMOTIONS IN PSHE

This week we have been looking at strategies to stay positive even when things don’t go well. We have been focusing on WHY ITS GOOD TO BE ME.Today we were asked to think about scenarios when we have had mixed emotions. Here are some of the ideas we came up with….

When Sam broke his brothers arm, he felt guilty because he was just trying to have fun at the same time he felt he had got a little bit of revenge  because his brother was hitting him the day before.

Jack had mixed emotions when he went on his first aeroplane ride. He felt very nervous because it was his first flight and he didnt now what to expect, however he also felt excited because he thought it would be good to look at all the street lights from a height.

When Devon’s cousin won 7 trophies and he only won 5 at a golfing tournament, he felt a bit jealous because he wished he had one or two more. At the same time he was pleased for his cousin. In the end Devon felt that it had happened the right way round because his cousin had been golfing for longer.

The other groups in our class also had to think of how they would positively sort out the situations when they had mixed emotions.

Devon, Jack, Conor and Sam
